The popular online photo-sharing service Instagram recently announced plans to tax users for uploading images of food and drink. Of the millions of photos snapped by Instagram devotees every day, a significant percentage of them feature unappetizing homemade or restaurant meals, blurry baked goods, and various uninteresting alcoholic beverages.
Folks were up and about early on the morning following a city-wide power outage; men, women, and children alike trading knowing looks and making remarks to the effect that, nine months hence, there would be “lotsa babies born” there in Polson, Montana, on the southern shore of Flathead Lake in Lake County. But recently, as the due date approached, came, and then went, it became apparent that only the usual number of heterosexual couples had gotten down to unprotected business during the blackout.
